Friday, June 7th is World Food Safety Day and the theme for this year's anniversary was set by the FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations) and the WHO (World Health Organization) to be: "Food safety - prepare for the unexpected".
At petchef, our priority is the safety of our little friend as well as our own, which is why we follow all the necessary steps and regulations to have a safe final product!
1. What is safe food?
Safe food is food that can be consumed without causing illness (food poisoning) or other harm to the consumer's health. This means that safe food should not contain pathogenic microorganisms, dangerous chemicals or foreign bodies.
2. How is the production of safe food implemented?
The production of safe food is a requirement of the law and is implemented through the observance of the HACCP system.
3. What is the HACCP system?
It is a quality assurance system that identifies, evaluates and controls risks related to food safety.
4. How does petchef ensure the production of safe food?
In collaboration with petchef 's quality team, we have designed and implemented written procedures based on HACCP principles.
We check compliance with our prerequisite programs:
✅personal hygiene rules
✅the disinfection cleaning program
✅equipment maintenance
✅insecticide-mycicide
✅maintaining temperatures under refrigeration & freezing
- either in the context of receiving food
- either in storage
- either during distribution
- either in the pasteurization of food
5. How is HACCP compliance verified?
We verify compliance with HACCP through frequent analyses of our final product, so that we can assess its compliance with National and Community legislation and through internal quality controls.
Our goal is safe food for our little friends 🐶
