We all love Christmas as it is the most festive and bright time of the year. Our pets also feel particularly happy during the holidays, however there are some elements that we need to keep in mind to protect them and get them into the festive spirit!
Whether you have a dog or a cat, there is some basic preparation that you should do to protect both them and your Christmas decorations. Below you will find some smart tips to prepare as well as beautiful ideas for Christmas gifts for the most cuddly pets.
Dog and Christmas precautions
Food 🍪
All dogs have a particularly heightened sense of smell and curiosity, but beyond that, they like to try everything.
During Christmas and holiday tables , make sure they stay away from chocolate and any kind of sweets.
Sugar, like chocolate , but also nuts, are dangerous foods for our dog, so it is best to place sweets in a place that they cannot access. While it is important to inform our friends, relatives and anyone else who comes to our house not to give leftovers or sweets to our dog when we are not looking!
This Christmas with petchef your dog will have his own cooked food on the Christmas table! No more begging your dog for a bite of your food! What better Christmas gift?
We create a personalized nutrition plan taking into account each dog's weight, age and activity level.

Decorative plants 🎄
Some of the decorative indoor plants are toxic to dogs. So, if you have a puppy who has not yet learned what is right and what is wrong, it is a good idea not to have plants in the room and not to leave them alone. If you have plants, place them in a place where they cannot reach them.
Cat and Christmas 🐱
If you have a cat in your home, then you will know how much she loves to play and mischief during this period. Christmas is the time when she goes wild, with the tree decorations being the focus of her attention. She likes to play with the ribbons, the ornaments, and in general anything decorative. It is therefore important to make sure that she does not go near the tree lights and to keep her away from it. Of course, when we are away, it will be good to limit her away from the tree area.
Additionally, we do not choose glass ornaments as they can break and injure our pets. You should also pay special attention to the liquid in the candles, the ingredients of which can cause allergies in our cats.
